If you attempt to install the SUP role post SP1 installation you will receive the following error in your WCM.log file.
If you check the status of the role is will show as critical.
To remedy the problem install the following MS hotfixes:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734608
Remove the SUP and add back in and the problem will be resolved.
