When attempting to install Adobe Reader recently from the Application Catalog the application installation failed. Checking the failure in the Software Center I encountered the following error ‘The software change returned error code 0x800702E4 (-2147024156)’
I investigated further in the AppEnforce.log and noticed the following error messages relating to the installation.
‘CMsiHandler::EnforceApp failed (0x800702e4). AppEnforce 7/15/2014 2:23:13 PM 3196 (0x0C7C)
AppProvider::EnforceApp – Failed to invoke EnforceApp on Application handler(0x800702e4). AppEnforce 7/15/2014 2:23:13 PM 3196 (0x0C7C)
CommenceEnforcement failed with error 0x800702e4. AppEnforce 7/15/2014 2:23:13 PM 3196 (0x0C7C)
Method CommenceEnforcement failed with error code 800702E4 AppEnforce 7/15/2014 2:23:13 PM 3196 (0x0C7C)

The application was failing to install as it was configured to install as the user and the user did not have sufficient rights to perform the installation. The application was modified to install for system in the User Experience tab of the applications Deployment Type.
The application then installed successfully.
I know this is over two years old but it just helped me out a lot so thanks for posting this!
