Resetting a Windows 10 device with a factory reset in Intune


You can factory reset a device in Intune, this is performed if you wish to reuse the device, or if it has gone missing.

In the Azure Portal, go to Intune>Devices>All Devices. Double click the device that you wish to factory reset.

Click Factory reset.

For devices running Windows 10 1709 and above, there is an option to retain enrollment state and user account. Click OK.

You will be informed that a factory reset is pending on the device.

If the device is on and connected then it will take up to 15 minutes to issue the factory reset. Once issued, the device will restart. On reboot it will reset.

Finally, the device will enter the OOBE stage ready to be re-used.
